Ao no Exorcist 11 – Just Like the Painful Past

Rin has made some friends, at least. :)

Chapter 11 – “A Fun Camp”

Someone is bound to know who Rin is. Everything keeps on getting worse, and it’s painful to know the truth that you actually don’t have power unless you depended on something you were gifted at.

We relived the sad past of Rin. He’s actually going on a rampage. At the rate he’s going, he’s like an exaggerated version of me. Although I do throw a lot of things (including chairs) but I always mix it up with crying. That always happened to me in grade school, plus, there’s no week that my classmates would feel the dark aura I would keep on emitting. It’s like I’m the bringer of bad luck of some sort.

Lucky on Rin, though, that he has a Father that cares so much to actually almost sacrifice himself for everything, all for his son, raising a kid like his son. His Father knew so well that the destruction he will cause will be great, but I’m impressed at how he never gave up so easily. He’s also seemingly persistent to keep Rin on his foot. Ironic, really, that Rin, the son of Satan, is the biggest weakness the Paladin has. I’m happy they emphasized this.

On the present time, at night, it’s interesting to see Kuro and Rin do some training with the wooden sword he has. True enough that Yukio might go on a rampage as well with Rin waking up at that time, but I guess that’s a fruit great enough to bear if that’s what he’d keep on doing. (I wonder if Rin really does sleep like a human. Eight hours?)

As the semester passes, there wasn’t much problem. Held right after, a camp. The result of these Camp Arc will surely go to the character development, and Rin’s control with his power, but I knew very well the risk from the beginning – that someone is bound to know that he has the powers of the son of Satan.

Their camp is held on a forest full of low level demons, which is more than enough at their level. The goal is to light a lantern (total of 3 lanterns), so only 3 can win this test. Rather than cooperation, it’s more like “competition” but I’m sure that at some point, they’ll finally realize something about cooperation and competition, being at the same place together.

Unexpectedly, right after coming out from the protection/barrier from the demons, they were all flocked with butterfly-like demons, and there’s a lot of them! Everyone else did their job well, but Rin doesn’t seem to be doing well. Shiemi was even in a worse situation. She screamed out and Rin came after him. With how concern Rin is, he noticed how Shiemi almost died out because of the demons. As a result, huge blue flames came out of Rin’s body, obliterating all the small demons that stood on their way.

However, on the downside… did Ryuji see the huge flame that came out from his body?!
