OP: 「Matoryoshika」by NICO Touches the Walls – It somehow reminds me of a song in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Hologram sang by the same singer, NICO Touches the Walls. Either that’s because it’s the same singer or because there really are similarities between the two. Though I have to say, this sounds way better and absolutely fitting for an anime. Oh, and the animation? Could you say anything better than awesome?

Summary and Impression:

Some random character appears, takes money from some devilish card (0666-), and poof, I already liked this show. What else is there to say now?

As the show goes on, it puts up a really dark atmosphere, good for watching shows at night. Really gives you a bit of the creeps, but not enough to qualify as a horror show. And still, there’s one thing that goes to my bones with its awesomeness, the pixelated style. I’ve seen it a hundred times already, even in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Yet, this one is used differently and used effectively, too. Indeed, it makes the graphics/effects look better.

Well, for a show that’s kind of mysterious, there were some weird points, like how the circle in your card shows someone, and whether you can do anything in the Financial District world (it seems so, makes the show grow better and better). The animation, though, makes me eat my words. It just proves that this show is of quality! (That reminds me: the only reason why I watch this show is because of its unusual, yet great plot.)

A fourth of the episode was used as an introduction to the said District, and the left of it is the story of how the main character has possessed this power. (The main character looks like Kira, though more human.) He’s broke, and taking two part-time jobs, and apparently, he looks like he doesn’t do well in school, either. Well, you see, he just depends on that girl that either likes him or just worried about him, but – I wouldn’t really want to observe on it closely, it makes things sound more cheesy than it’s meant to be.

Now, this boy, Yoga Kimimaro, meets this clown-like freak. It seems like he’s kind of introducing him about how he could get money easier and faster through the Financial District. This happens when someone knocks on his door, yet seems like nobody is there. He appears out of nowhere, yet easily gets rejected by Yoga. He turns his back, he appears out of nowhere again. But Yoga seems like he isn’t at much shock or awe at first at how this freak makes him see things not the way it is, it’s as though he’s delivering it through a dream. He keeps on rejecting on the idea and continues to study for the upcoming test tomorrow, which he hasn’t been listening on.

The next day, he’s surprised to see that he has 500,000 yen in his bank account, and of course, the ATM – err – the possessed ATM has seemingly convinced him. The freak appears again, and again, finally convincing him to do so. This is where the story begins.

ED: 「RPG」by School Food Punishment – Kind of boring, but the animation is still awesome like the OP.

*No OP/ED in the reviewing. Will be later put up in a different blog post.
*Oh yeah, forgot to mention, there’s also a soundtrack that seems to be alike with Soul Eater.
